Pittsburgh plastic surgeon, Dr. James Fernau, works with area men to help them “look the part” in the business world. A wrinkle relaxer, such as BOTOX, Dysport and Xeomin, helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles that appear on the upper face. They are most commonly used on the forehead and around the eyes.

A wrinkle filler is also referred to as an injectable filler. Comprised of various substances ranging from collagen to hyaluronic acid, the primary purpose of a filler is to create additional volume under the skin where volume has been depleted due to age. The result is a smoother surface and a fresher looking appearance. Fillers can be used in various areas on the face including under the eyes, in the cheeks, lips, laugh lines, and chin. Dr. Fernau is proud to offer a number of fillers, including: Voluma, Belotero, Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, Radiesse, and Sculptra. Dr. Fernau also performs fat transfers, which takes fat from one area of the body and transfers it to the face, which some prefer as it is an autologous approach.

In addition to injectables, Dr. Fernau also offers various treatments to help even out the skin tone and reduce the appearance of skin irregularities. Some men may benefit from having a skin resurfacing laser treatment, a chemical peel or dermabrasion.

Dr. Fernau performs all of his procedures in an accredited facility. Because the Executive Edge comprises numerous procedures, some of which may be surgical and others nonsurgical, the entire procedure process may be planned out over several staged sessions. In general, most of the nonsurgical treatments have limited, if any, downtime. Facial surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia and may require a 7-10 day period of recovery.
