What is vectra 3d imaging?
Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. James Fernau offers patients the unique opportunity to "try on" their new look prior to undergoing a cosmetic procedure. Whether you want to see what your breast enhancement could look like, or how dramatic a facelift could appear, Vectra 3D Imaging offers patients the exciting opportunity to see what their visual result may look like before actual surgery. Dr. Fernau is known for his patience and knowledge during the initial consultation, and he takes the necessary time and a personalized approach with each patient so that each question is answered thoroughly. With the help of the Vectra 3D system, patients often find themselves more confident in the decision-making process.
Our Vectra 3D simulation station is used during many of our consultations. The projected outcome from a surgery is created for the patient to see through a set of high-resolution 3D images that are captured. The system then displays the “after surgery” effects onto a screen for the patient and Dr. Fernau to discuss.

What are the Benefits of Vectra 3D imaging?
It can be hard to imagine what you will look like after a cosmetic procedure. Vectra 3D Imaging allows patients to see a realistic simulation of their potential results. This tool does not replace an in-person consultation with Dr. Fernau, but it does help patients make more informed decisions about their care. There are no side effects associated with this technology, and the results are completely private. We are proud to offer such a cutting-edge service to our patients.
how does vectra 3d imaging work?
Vectra 3D Imaging is quick, insightful, and remarkably simple. Here is how Vectra 3D Imaging works:
- During the initial consultation, the patient is guided through a series of pictures that will be taken using Vectra’s high-resolution cameras
- Dr. Fernau will review the images with the patient to go over anatomy, procedure possibilities, and anticipated results. The patient will have the opportunity to “try on” numerous looks.
- Both parties will work together to develop a desired outcome. Many patients feel more confident walking into surgery following this process with a better understanding of the anticipated results.
