19 y/o Septo-rhinoplasty - Ever since I can remember, I've never been able to breathe through my nose. Eventually I found out that I had a deviated septum and figured now while I'm young (19, f), now would be a good time to get a septoplasty and also fix a bump that I've always been self conscious of on my bridge. The second Dr.Fernau saw my nose he could tell me that my nose had been broken at one point in my life, mind you that I've been to numerous ENT specialists and other plastic surgeons that never mentioned that. He assured me that after the septo-rhinoplasty that I'd be able to breathe completely after the surgery and I scheduled the surgery a few days later. The office staff was always accommodating to my needs and questions as the surgery got closer (helping me plan my appointments well in advance around my weird work schedule, squeezing me in when needed) and were always friendly. Dr.Fernau made me feel so comfortable and prepared before the surgery with all of the pre-operative measures he takes with a vitamin regime, ointments and soaps using for the last three days before surgery. You always knew that he knew what he was doing and was doing it for your best interest. The day of surgery I was so nervous! He came back before surgery and met my family and assured them (and me again) that I'd be ecstatic with the outcome. 5 hours later I woke up and my boyfriend told me that he said my nose fracture was so bad that a piece of bone actually chipped away. He said before surgery he couldn't get a syringe up my one nostril and after he could fit his fingers up there so I will now be able to breathe. My surgery was July 20th so my first post-op appointment was four days later to get my internal splints out. I went into the appointment feeling weak, tired and not like myself. With black eyes and a swollen face, how can anyone feel good? As soon as he came in he could sense that and in a matter of minutes he had me laughing. He has a wonderful bedside manner. I'm not gonna candy coat it, the splint removal was HORRIBLE. I thought my brain was gonna come out with them. More
Excellent is not enough For Dr James, he deserves more. One and a half year ago I have had Lower lid surgery Blepharoplasty, under a surgeon who rewind my lower lids by taking extra skin, the eyelid is turned outward away from the eyeball. I suffered doing 3 unsuccessful correction surgeries before I get to know Dr James. When I decided to go for the 4th surgery through Dr Fernau I did not have the hope that he will be able to give me the normal look I dream of. My conclusion after the procedure he made to me, I can not describe the happiness I am in whenever I look at the mirror. This is enough to say He is marvelous . You worked your "magic"! I am most surprised by the "liquid rhinoplasty". I had no idea that my hump in my nose could be fixed so easily. It has "Softened" the whole look of my face. I can't thank Dr. Fernau enough for my beautiful nose. He stepped up to the plate of fixing my collapsing nose due to two previous botched surgeries when no other doctor would. Nine months ago Dr Fernau performed a facelift and a forehead left and a neck left and eyelid surgery and my results are amazing. My friends tell me I look 15 years younger. He also performed laser resurfacing of my scars free of charge and you cannot see any scars on my face lift incisions. I am extremely impressed by his nurses and staff as they have treated me so well and answered all of my questions. So Grateful!!! - Robinson, PA - Dr. Fernau is an amazing doctor and person. He is the best I've been to by far. His work is beautiful and he strives for perfection. He corrected a mistake that another physician made with filler in my tear trough area that I went around with for 2 years and no one else seemed to be able to fix. It was uneven, and I had bags there and a blue tinted discoloration. Dr. Fernau spent so much time with me and offered me different treatments to do everything he could to make me look my best. He used the most current products and techniques I have not seen anyone else use or even mention. He added filler to surrounding areas and he treated the Edema and the discoloration both FREE of charge! He also has continued to do the laser treatment around my eyes for FREE! I love dr. Ferneu ! He is a gifted , and kind Dr. I would always go back to him for any procedure. He is always honest , and that means so much. I had my eyes done , i had bags under my eyes. I had a face lift, eye lid surgery and a neck lift. Several months later I had a fat transfer procedure in which fat was injected into my face to correct some deep wrinkles. I am extremely satisfied w ith the results. As a physician myself, I would only go to another doctor if I knew of his reputation and surgical skill. Dr, Fernau has an excellent reputation among other physicians and he is a highly skilled surgeon. I would recommend him to my friends, family members and patients. My experience with Dr. Fernau and his staff could not have been better. As a physician, I have heard good things about Dr. Fernau and I would not have had him operate upon me if I did not have the utmost respect for his skills and talent. I had a facelift, neck lift and both eyes done at one time. It was done in his office under sedation which saved me money. I was given adequate post-operative pain medications. In less than 3 weeks, all the discoloration and most of the swelling is gone. I am entirely pleased with the results which should get even better as the residual swelling resolves. The only "sensation" I still have is a feeling of tighness around my face and some numb areas of skin, both of which he told me I would have for several months. Dr. Fernau is a good guy and an even better surgeon and his staff is equally professional. I would highly recommend him to both my family members and patients. More
